I've not touched the car since I came back my holidays. The VW Karmann Ghia I bought from my mate in the States is in my garage just now and Muj is at my son's, so as soon as the VW is sold ( just got it ready for sale this week - registered, mot'd taxed etc), then Astral Traveller is getting it :D .
I still have an issue with getting it's reg number back and have contacted the chap in the mmoc who deals with the dvla. I thought it had lost it's chassis number, but on further investigation, it looks like the builder had made his own chassis plate, and attached it near to the body number. I've sent all the details off to the mmoc chap, but getting mail here is really bad, so I'm still waiting.
I'm taking the easy way out with my other V8 project and sending it away to be professionally finished off -

Pete

NO SPOTLIGHT
Front sidelights removed (to headlights)
Proper front bumper
Interior completely changed to be more user friendly - investigate how to decrease the size of trans tunnel
-snip-
I'm not doing any more distmantling just now as I want to preserve the look until the DVLA decide if I can keep the original reg no. - didn't get a log book with it.

I do however need a good Ford 302 to replace the Titanic's anchor which is fitted at present.

PO
The size of the transmission tunnel would have made the car undriveable- hence why it was never used on the road.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Transmission tunnel has no bearing on driveability - once behind the wheel there is plenty room - it's just that the trans tunnel ia a bit intrusive - it's only a 2 seater anyway.
