The Lucas ACR type Alternator has soldered connections to the Diode pack.

I've given a link to part way through the video....
Earlier, he's spoken about how he's been trying to fix this chromed 'Show' Alternator....
He's already had it apart twice, changing the Brushes and the Voltage Regulator, apparently it's still not working so he's changing the Diode Pack.

If only he knew what he was doing he'd have done some investigation to determine what was faulty and be able to change the right component first time around... :lol:

He knew he should have followed his instinct to replace the "cheap as chips" alternator and get back to using and enjoying his new car. Instead he tried to repair what wasn't really repairable and missed the Drive it Day!

If you read it properly, I was clearly referring to the guy on the video who took it apart 3 times, instead of checking the diode pack while it was apart the first time.... :roll:
