100% agreed.
I've yet to hear a Scot refer to himself as British
I have, many, many times. Certainly not as English though :D

Regarding 'British' I have a lot of fun with my daughter-in-law who comes from Northern Ireland. Great Britain comprises of England, Scotland and Wales only. She lived in the 'United Kingdom' which comprises of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. She "hates" being told she's not British.

Me too Jonathon - i only asked why - i didn't make any comment on the coil spring set-up. But I did comment that the torsion bar set-up was excellent. The coil spring installation is a lot of work - quite unjustified for a normal road car. I have additional dampers - and with a little bit of negative camber that makes for excellent front end handling. A spring is a spring - a coil spring is only a torsion bar wound up - and for road use the standard torsion bar is plently strong enough - it just needs better damping.

I completely agree, and it was what I was saying too. I was not saying that coil-overs were bad or poorly designed etc, just defending the torsion bar corner as I have found them to perform well.

We had exactly the same discussion before with disc brakes, remember? We don't have to modify the existing systems if they perform OK.

I think Ray has hit the nail on the head! Text is very hard to use to express emotion properly. Especially if the reader & writer have different levels of understanding of the language.

An example of this is:
Jonathon wrote:Now Cam, if I have offended you by your mis reading of my post then I appologise.
Which I read as an attack on my ability to correctly read, interpret and understand what was written. Thus making me annoyed, angry and liable to make further attacks to defend my position, etc, etc. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So, I agree with Terry that we should put this one to bed now and forget about it. Advice was given from both sides and hopefully Terry will now be able to make an informed choice on which system to go for. He has not driven Jonathon's test car or mine either. Perhaps if he had the time to try out BOTH (to be fair) then all the better.

I certainly hope that Jonathon will continue to post positive contributions to this forum for many a year to come (if he wishes to of course!) and I will try to do the same to the best of my experience/abilities. If Jonathon gets moderated out at any point then I doubt it will be from me, but remember of course that there are five people that check and moderate this forum. People don't get moderated for differences of opinion though. I think we are all big enough for that. I could quite easily have clicked delete a while back, but that's hardly productive as this forum is about discussion and that's what we do! :D

As regards the British/English thing, I am English with Scottish heritage (few generations back), so I tend to refer to myself as British (a mix of the two). I will support ANY concern that is good for the nation (and by nation I mean England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales). I support small businesses but not large corporations as I don't agree (personally) with masses of personal wealth or this obsession with international finance.
