Thought as much, might source a HIF38. In fact, I've got an original carb somewhere, will find it.

Even with a couple of new drums - a brake overhaul will be much less expensive (and easier) than a disc conversion... And the resulting brakes will be perfectly adequate for any sane motoring.

Ok, I've decided to go for the overhaul. It's got the 8inch drums on the front and I always found the brakes suitable (until recently obviously).

Wise move I think - do a complete job front and rear - and then you shouldn't have any brake worries for a couple of years.
