Back to the wildlife.I have night cameras set up in my garden.I have movies of badgers and foxes and hedgehogs coming to eat the dog kibble I put out.Its not a big garden and I live very close to town.I also have a garden full of birds in the daytime. They co-exist as nature intended. Its us lot that seem unable to!
True! Hadn't thought of that. Cover the nasty little predatory Minor in a plastic bag ( Carcoon??) and allow the fans to draw in noxious fumes to exterminate it! Let's face it......can't really throw it in the nearest stream or pond!!
Can't claim to have movies of foxes, but have quite a lot of the local badgers at the back door, and of the odd cat.
As for the birds......what a joy to see them all feeding at the table! :lol: :lol:
Between feeding the badgers and the birds I reckon I must spend between 10% and 15% of my teaching pension on food!! Don't tell the missus!!!!!!!!!!!!! :oops: :oops:

Nothing too exciting apart from my favourite screwdriver that I lost about a year ago. Wedged behind a bit of half rotting board!

Latest update on the hairy, smelly lodger in the barn;
I finally ventured out into the jaws of the storm this afternoon and popped into the barn for a quick look-see.
When I first started this thread it was snoozing the days away behind my engines, but after a while it moved further into the barn where it found a wee spot under a desk, hemmed in by a toolbox and the welding trolley, more to its liking. I knew it was there because I could see wee tufts of fur sticking out, and the wearer tensed when a torch was shone in that area so I knew he/she was still alive.
No sign of it in either spot today, though the wee scraped out bit near a passage door that it uses as a latrine ( I love it soooooooo much for that!) had a nice, big, new present for me in it!!
So, it's still around, but I know not where it sleeps! Granted the barn has a few hidey holes around, but maybe I'll unearth it as I tidy a bit more. I thought that maybe it had taken offence at the strong smell of solvents from spraying a car dolly with a can of Plastikote had upset it ( they have an incredibly sensitive sense of smell) and it had toddled off, but now I'm not so sure! Certainly several days of Joe Bonamassa "Live at tha Albert Hall" didn't seem to upset it!!
If there are any further sightings I will post another update.

Why, thank you Tysonn. I'm flattered. Remember thatr another plus point is that we seem to have a soft spot for Morris Minors too!
AS for Mr./Mrs. Badger, I haven't seen it for several days now, but I know it is still around. The first daytime snoozing place was behind the engines, and then it moved deeper into the barn and slept in that wee spot beneath an old desk snuggled in between the welding trolley, an old wooden tool chest and the two pieces of plywood from a Morris Minor boot floor. The latter were sitting on edge tucked right back in between the desk and an adjacent table.
When I went into the barn yesterday morning, the beastie had somehow managed to pull BOTH of the plywood pieces almost completely out, leaving just a couple of inches between desk and table so that they still stood on their edges. I've no idea as to how it did it! Sorry the photo is a bit(??) poor![frame]Image[/frame] :-?
Ok, so I left them where they were. When I went out this morning, one was completely out as can be seen in the photo. I can only assume that, having seen no Herculean mice around of late, that the same beastie has been at work again![frame]Image[/frame].
It had also left a rather spectacular present in the wee (sic) spot that it uses as a latrine. I had ( as I seem to have to do most days now!) cleared all previous offerings and, when I had left the barn the previous night, the loo had been empty. Apologies to anyone with a squeamish stomach, and knowing my luck this will be the photograph that is shown on the Home Page!!!! :oops: :oops: :oops:[frame]Image[/frame].
I'm thinking of asking club member's for suggestions for names for the badger. Pooh, of course, springs to mind, as does Digger and Houdini.
I'm sure that you can come up with some far better suggestions!?
I'm about to submit this now, and dreading opening the Home Page to find a photo of a big pile of badger poo staring me in the face!! Apologies once again!
