as you can see from the picture above the problem is with item 30 which only has one end and will not tap out the other side or even with the plate (34) removed

i didn't want to cut the springs but they had sagged quite bad and i will be fitting 7 leaf springs anyway so they had to go, thanks for the info on removing stubborn bolts all will come in handy and i am still learning with lots and lots to learn yet

I wouldn't have cut the springs either, destroying stuff has a way of coming back and biting, Karma maybe.
One reason in this case is that the whole spring would have given you loads of leverage on the recalcitrant pin.
Heat and brute force should do the trick anyway.

A little more done in the garage, i have been cleaning the underseal off of the underside and these are the tools that i have been using, just in case any of you guys are thinking of doing it yourself[frame][/frame]

this one twist knot cup has done the complete underside of the car and here is the comparison from new to old[frame][/frame]

i have been reading through some sites on welding and a friend popped over to assess my beads of weld and to offer tips on how i can better them, after this all was deemed good enough to have a go and so i did.[frame][/frame]
this is the section i was going to attack,[frame][/frame]
this is what it ended up like, not the prettiest welding but better than what was there and i can only get better, i hope, i was rather crude with the cutting out of the first patch and paid the price having to fill gaps that shouldn't be there, lesson learned, take my time and use cardboard templates.[frame][/frame]

this is what patch 2 looked like, not completely welded in yet as i am having wire feed issues as in there isn't any lol.

Good luck with yours I have really enjoyed what I have done so far except the underseal, mine isn't too bad by comparison to some yours maybe as good if not better, here's hoping for you anyway

Good progress, cleaning off all the old underseal and dirt gives you more of an idea of what you have to weld to. Keep at the welding, you will get the hang of it
