Are you asking about the windscreen surround?

I have a cab section (cut just below the dash, and just in front of the B pillars soon) which I was going to use to repair my trav - but its not as bad as I thought so I may be looking to sell it shortly!

Hi Matt

If you look at the picture I posted above, you will see the piece I mean - its the bottom section of the window pillar, inner side - let me know if you cant see it on the picture - if you do have this piece and its in good nick, I'd serpently be interested

Cheers

Lian,

Yep thats the place. Fairmile Restorations

I am having a hard time telling if some of the parts are what i need or not.
I wish you had better pictures of your parts.
That being said i am still finishing the suspension and brakes.
I figured i would write you when i needed the body panels.

It is great your making these panels for the people that would like to restore their Van.

Cheers from over the pond,

Vigil

Yes its a bit embarrasing that picture. I sketched it hurriedly on the dining room table with a ball point pen before scanning it and using it in my first price list the night before a national rally years ago and its sort of stuck.... New website should have pics of all the panels including the lump of screen pillar discussed here. Must get onto my website person again.... :D
cheers

In case anyone was wondering, another few months have gone by. BWS has not seen much progress recently as the summer weather has dictated a different timetable; fishing, working on the garden ( I beg your pardon, I never promised you ........) etc etc. A series 2A Land Rover has also consumed more hours, along with a Plymouth Pilot - back on the case soon :D

Any one know if Fairmile Restorations is still in business?
I have sent a couple of request and no replay.
Iain was on this roof thread so i figured i would ask here.
My Van has also been going slow due to the lack of money.
I have saved up for some roof panels and rain gutter repair.
I am not sure where to acquire the parts now.
Does any one know of a place that is reasonable for metal parts?
I was told at one time there was a fiber glass van back available.
Now i can not find any information on them either.
Any one know any thing about these or a link?

Thanks for your time and help,

Vigil

Ran into this one once. Not sure they are still in business, and shipping will be expensive.

I believe that is the link i could not find.
I may look into what it will cost.
It depends on shipping as you said.

With the exchange rate it gets more friendly.
1 USD = 6.43 DDK
1 USD = 61.64 RUPEE - Sir Lanka
1 USD = .66 BPS
My green backs get a little better exchange.
Your pound Sterling even better
1 BPS = 9.77 DDK
1 BPS = 93.65 RUPEE

Thanks for the link.

Great news your back on the Van.

I find this conversation very interesting and educational.
I wish you were a little more a long so i could learn more.
And it would prevent me from doing things more then once.
It may be just me over analyzing what i am doing.
I guess that is some type of learning curve.
I wish i had the room you have to work in.
My one car garage limits what i can do at one time.

I retired just before Christmas, so now I can get on with it!
Today I finally started the rebuild of my 1972 (yep 72) Postal Engineering van, unit is now cleaned up and new lighting & power fitted. Walls painted white so I can see better.
This rebuild began when the previous owner purchased a brand new chassis, many years ago.
Will post more pics as rebuild continues.[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

Hi Tony
I am almost certain that it is not possible to buy a roof panel as a new replacement part
We spent a considerable amount of time & money repairing ours[frame]Image[/frame]

I fitted my gutter to the roof, then the complete assembly to the tub. I see you've fitted the gutter to the tub first, won't this make attaching the roof difficult ?

Hi Les
The reason I did it like this is that we had to cut out about 25mm all round the bottom of the roof panel as there was corrosion to quite a part of it, then we made and fitted the new section, with the roof as here:[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]
