Dan's got something sorted now:
I've organised a pro to do it on a flatbed truck. £66 - not too bad!

Indeed I have. It was a good offer heathy, but by the time you factor in the hassle & cost of collecting an A-Frame, especially from your location, it soon becomes very time consuming and expensive

To tow anything over 750kg MAM (max gross weight, as it used to be called), you need either to have passed your car test before Jan 1997 (which must rule out over a third of contributors to this forum), or to have passed a trailer test.
Not *quite* true...

Its also ok to tow a trailer with a max gross over 750kg so long as the combined max gross weight of the tow vehicle and the max gross of the trailer is 3500kg or less AND the Max Gross of the trailer is under the unladen weight of the towing vehicle.

For example... a transit 80 has a max gross weight of 2600kg, and weighs 1800kg unladen. You could tow a trailer with a max gross weight of 900kg

I can only tow a trailer with a max gross of 750kg behind my transit 190 (3500kg max gross).

Daft eh? Can tow a larger trailer behind my dads Saab than behind my transit!

Daft eh?
completely loopy in some ways, but the intention was sensible - just poor implementation
