Well, they are easy to tell apart, as it says Austin, Morris, Riley and Wolseley on them :D

Finding the correct model proves to be a tad harder though!

Cheers :D

Progress so far, as in models found:
1 drawing for a kingpin for Morris Minor
Several for the Riley 1.5
Several for the ADO16, the 1100/1300 range

Hopefully I will find some more tomorrow, I think I have seen some drawings of trunnions :D

I am now halfway through, and very excited (yes I am a sad indiviual) but I have found a drawing marked 9X

Insiders will know why I am excited :D:D:D

To add ot the list:
1/2 ton Van C-series
10cwt Van (but that may well be the same one!)

Also lots of 4wd Austin stuff, looks fully independent, uses Austin partnumbers.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Could very well be, the dates lie within the production time.

Just read the 9X story, which made me more excited, looking at dates:

The story on www.austin-rover.co.uk tells me that Sir Alec started in 1968 with his famous 9X projects.

The drawing I have however, outdates that by 2 years, and is dated 06-12-1965 :D Yay. (it's not a terribly exciting drawing btw, it shows a diff shaft, but it is in relatively good nick)

Interesting, not the least because the story actually gives the weight of the A series engine, something which has been asked quite a few times. 340lb, fact fans :D

That's strange because the Mini engine and gearbox together weigh less, at 333lb, and it's the same engine!

yes, but the gearbox is built into the engine (well sort of anyway) and the minor has a large housing.

I am still excited about the 9X drawing :D:D:D

The gearbox is bolted to the bottom, and holds all the gears, remove it and you are left with a Minor engine less the sump!

I'm not arguing :D Now, however, I'm going to have to take a look at the Minor workshop manual...
