Perfect! Are there any articles on the science of stub stacks? I've got vizards tuning the a series, shall I cast an eye through that? Like I said, I bought the pancake because I preferred the neatness of it to my original one which was all over the shop, but as for the science of tuning, I know about as much of that as I do Mandarin Chinese.
Cheers!

Hmm, can only find that type in pairs. If anyone fancies one, I'll buy them both and sort out posting one out and splitting cost down the middle to you. No rush, got to get him fired up first!

Putting the dash back together to start him up this week. Annoyingly my pinch bolt for the choke cable to carb has just given up. £1.50 from ESM, plus £8.95 postage. What the chicken.[frame][/frame]
Cheers

Perfect, cheers Panky!

Dash back together, choke connected. Try to start, no joy. Plugs out and cleaned, distributor points clearly closed up, regapped, fateful turn of key then boom! He goes!!!
Need to tune the carb in but I'm gassing myself in the garage so leave that little victory![frame][/frame]

Result
A good starting point to set the carb is to screw the jet in fully, screw it out a turn and a half and go from there.

Did the hole in my RH door frame making that side finished and ready for the door to be hung again (hoping it fits...)
It wasn't as neat as I'd like as I messed up drilling out a couple of spot welds. A splash of filler over it and I'll learn for the other side.
Cheers

Door trial fitted, fits great! Leaving it on now and doing things around it. I also filled my repair a bit with body filler to neaten it up but didn't take a photo of that.[frame][/frame]
Also, this is the best £8 I've ever spent.[frame][/frame]
Also popped my new choke cable nipple on, struggling to get my boot to fit well, bloody fibre glass rubbish. Need a steel one.
No car work this weekend, family time.
Monday for the next session!
Cheers

Great stuff. I had a double take there, I thought the tray was sunk into the panel for a second, good idea though I'm always misplacing spanners and nuts and bolts

Yeh I did it one too many times and happened to be in Halfords when I saw it and thought it would solve all my problems! It solved the losing bolts spanners and wrenches problem at least! I could do with loads of them!!

How about one of those triangular magnetic welding clamps on the bottom of an old baking tray.

Thanks Neil,
It's not perfect everywhere but I'm happy it's the best I can do!
