Alternative horn switch

To conclude, I have resolved my horn dilemma and followed a simple route. To clarify, the original horn is a Lucas Altette and although properly adjusted and working perfectly loudly, is quite high pitched. Rummaging in my garage I found a box of old horns bought for a motorbike restoration project, among which was a Clear Hooters HF500 horn. Testing it on a battery it worked perfectly with a loud low note. I have bolted it to the opposite side of the engine bay to the Lucas horn (mounting hole already there) and wired it up directly in series with the original horn. The result is a nice loud, balanced note, quite sufficient to warn other road users as required. Job done!

That makes no sense, as each horn now has only 6v instead of 12v ... before anyone gets technical, yes, that is an approximation as I don't know the relative resistance values of the 2 coils.
Point is, have you wired them Series or Parallel...
I'm guessing you mean Parallel, but I'd like to clarify the point for anyone else reading this in the future considering the same modification...

Excuse my electrical ignorance! I have taken a new wire from each terminal on the original horn and connected them to the terminals on the new horn. I think that is called in parallel, not in series.

I thought as much, just wanted to clarify it for anyone, not knowing the relevance, who might read it at a later date.
