I believe that legally Bull Motif are responsible as the supplier to you - whether they can be reimbursed by the supplier of the faulty goods is their problem, not yours.
If they have supplied something that is either 'not of merchantable quality' or 'not fit for purpose' they have to replace it for you; their supplier is responsible to their customer/distributor, not you. That is my understanding!
Making that happen is maybe another matter, but contact Trading Standards might be a starting point if Bull Motif are not prepared to honour their commercial obligations.

Re: Stainless exhaust
Just to finish the story: Bull Motif eventually agreed to supply another front section which was also faulty. In the end they arranged to collect all the faulty exhaust parts and give me a full refund. I obtained another system from ESM which is fine. Good result in the end other than the hassle of removing and refitting exhausts several times, and trying to persuade BM to do the right thing which they eventually did.

Re: Stainless exhaust
Glad you got it resolved in the end even if it took much longer than it should. I have not used BM for spares myself, I use ESM and so far have not had any problems with them or the goods they have supplied.
