3-Branch LCB Manifold holes

Well, just to update you all on the saga of the exhaust.

The Minor Centre in Birmingham rang me yesterday and said that they shouted at Falcon exhausts for all the grief that they were causing, and that it was not good enough, so Falcon agreed to refund the front box and also to replace the rear section free of charge.

So, in effect I will have a completely new system. I asked if I should send them the old rear section back, and they told me to bin it!

They also said that I had produced the vast majority of their returns!

Bloody typical!!

So, I will keep the old rear section on - because I am sick of removing it, and when it fails (which it will eventually) then I'll replace it with the new piece that they are sending me.

Good of them to replace it, but then they should have really.

Let's hope that's the last we hear of it!!

Thanks Daddsie, I have used them before when I had the Minis, and was very impressed with their products. I will most likely give them a try when my current system falls off (which probably won't be long!!)

Daddsie why did you use a Falcon exhaust / manifold when you have a good local company that I seem to recognise, was it price or ?

Yes it was price, over double the cost. only bought the three branch, manufactured the rest from a BMW stainless system that was in the skip down at my local exhaust centre.

I'm sure you could manage it Cam....
I used a home made exhaust once - put together from mig welded sections of steel, finishing with a 3" straight through silencer under the passenger door.
It sounded fantastic and was free flowing, though it wasn't pretty due to the lack of properly formed bends. Wasn't difficult to do though it only had to fit a standard manifold - the LCB version would be more tricky but if you start with a steel Mini version (cheap and cheerful and readily available) you could get much bigger than 1.5"

eventually I would like to make a proper stainless (good quality) system with the correct bore and silencers all the way from the head to the end pipe. the only things at the moment stopping me are time and money!!! (aren't they always!!). So, I'll make do for now.

I know the feeling well - I'm saving (for another house) and may even have to get rid of some cars - Ugh

My green Minor needs some money spending on it - that may be the first casualty. Even the Porker is parked on thin ice! Hardly a price worth paying, but if houses will come down in the next year the cars will be safe... (I WISH)
