I found this radiator lower tank hose fitting mod mentioned in the morris minor workshop manual, so it was also used as an adaption mod for fitting a heater in the car.

Hi everyone, the heater hose arrived and I now finally have time to attach it. Problem is, I don't know how :)
How do I reach the other end of the heater hose where it goes into the car?
Do I need to get under the car or is there another way? I guess I won't be able to reach the area from behind the steering wheel? Obviously we are talking about a water cycle here, so I really don't know how to reach this area.
Thanks in advance, maybe I can post a pic tmrw if it helps.

As ever its the compromise between originallity (so it wont win prizes for best in class - assuming the MMOC judges twig the differences on the early 1000s (!). And usability. Were the 1000s and late MMIIs the first to have factory fitted heaters rather than the aftermarket add on ones.

You might need one of the many styles of copper pipe take offs to heater pipe (if no suppliers have a new one , I have a spare lurking somewhere that bolts to a couple of (longer? exhaust manifold studs)

I don't know about the Series II, but the early Minor 1000 had only heaters fitted as standard on the deluxe versions, and not on the standard versions. Ours is a 1958 standard car and we have the invoice from the supplying garage to fit the 'round' heater in 1960 - fitment looked identical to the factory-fit heater of the same period.

Did the later Minors all have heaters, or were they only standard fit to the deluxe up to the end of production?

Has since been changed to the later, fresh air, type and then further 'enhanced' with a later Mini heater matrix and 5/8" hoses - I am not sure the Mini matrix that it makes all that much difference, even with an 88°C thermostat year round.

The difference lies with the much better Mini fan in the later casing. The internal heat exchanger element is the same size.

It is the complete Mini heater, casing, fan, matrix etc. I removed the Mini front mounted controls and fitted the previous front panel + rheostat, so visually it is Minor! On 'full' the rheostat does nothing and switches on 'full power' - the fan is more powerful than original Minor one, but the heat output is still somewhat marginal in cold weather.
