I have read that when developers were writing the code in windows 95 and 98 they shortened the search to the number 9 when they were developing the code for each OS. In those days there were only two versions with the number 9 in it so it made sense.mike.perry wrote:What happened to Windows 9?
But I have also read that the reason to go straight to 10 is to try and market there new OS better as Windows 8 got such bad press.
I think that Microsoft as a company wants to make a decent profit It's naming convention is down to marketing reasons.
