I feel like there should be more than there is though as there is quite a big gap between the chrome bit of the door and the body which lets a lot of air in.
The other thing I was wondering is that I often hear about the Morris Minor's characteristic exhaust 'parp'. I don't get that on my car, the exhaust is always quiet. Does this mean there's something wrong?
Adjust the window frames so that they fit tightly to the draught excluders.
I've checked the petrol system and it's not leaking. What I was smelling was actually exhaust. I'll look into a tailpipe extension. Although, I weakened the mixture today (since it was a bit rich) and the smell isn't as strong. As far as the draughts are concerned, I've attached a photo of the current door seals. They don't have any rubber bit on them to actually seal the door. Strangely, it doesn't look like they ever did. Is this possible?
That looks like a replacement seal. The original ones were cloth with a rubber seal, which clips on, or you can now also get a replacement type which is a push on rubber seal: http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/adv ... t&x=13&y=9
The problem with them is that they don't really do any sealing since they're just hard strips. They don't have any soft material like rubber to compress and create a seal. I don't understand what they're supposed to do without that
