Jetting for 1275 head conversion.

I was looking at my 1098 head today to find out what failed as the gasket was intact. Very shocked as I found quite a substantial crack between 3 and 4 ... ooops what happened?

I was kindly given a hs4 carb, still winning.

Overheated......... Salvage the valves etc - casting makes a good door stop.

I wish I could think of a better use ... door stop it is.

I need a inlet manifold but all I can find are water heated ones. Will it run ok without heating? Alternatively it could be heated by the return from the heater which now needs to be re routed to clear the stat housing, two birds with one stone?

I don't fit the 'heating' - no need really. But I guess in winter it 'may' help economy slightly.

Wow, what a beast! Its a completely different engine. The bottom end and Idle is quite rough but it revvs so freely drifting on dry roads is now quite easy.

I have bodged on a moggie air filter until the new one arrives, I hope this is the cause of the poor idle and such.

Also my speedo stopped working after I pushed it off the clock I hope its the cable thats snapped its still attached at the g box and the counter has stopped, I haven't got to the back of the speedo yet.
