I am putting it through the always on fuse. I thought it would be safer incase of a short wire.
I remember all my previous cars brake lights working with ignition off. perhaps I remember wrong.
Perhaps I should switch it back to normal after 50 years I'm sure someone would have said if they needed fusing
Though now modern cars all use relays less high current going around the car interior

Putting brake light through a fuse is correct - normally IGN fuse in UK. But don't advise putting headlamps through any single fuse....as before - sudden darkness at speed is a bit worrying......
