Thanks guys!

It is comforting to have seen her stripped right back and to know that there's nothing sinister lurking underneath the shiny paint :)

My little girl and I went out in her at the weekend and it was such fun (though she kept laughing at me for missing 3rd!).

I think the clutch needs attention as there's a juddering when I reverse slowly, and occasionally if I pull away with any hesitation. Watch out for a post in the Mechanical section soon! :lol:

Check whether the engine steady cable - which should be attached to the back of the gearbox is tight (or even there) as this will reduce the judder you are experiencing. :wink:

NO! Do NOT have the "steady cable" behind the gearbox tight. There is a steady bar or rod between the rear stud on the cylinder head and the bottom of the battery box; but the cable underneath is a restraining cable whose sole job is to stop the engine and gearbox from running forward into the radiator. The cable should be fitted with just a little slack in it - not a lot. If it is tight then it will transmit vibration to the body and stop the rubber mounts from doing their job.
