Sorry for not being about here for a bit; been busy!!
Aren't Marina dn Minor the same 101,mm PCD anyway?
I am definitely going to try the thicker oil thing soon, 'Henry' comes home next week and i am going to get stuck in...
Lots of welding first though.
I am still not convinced about poly buhes; two of my cars have had probs with them and those were from different sources. Admittedly one did do a huge mileage first, but the other didn't. The third car has been on rubber bushes for the past 8 years, and has done 60,000 miles in that time with no probs.
What diff would you go with? 1098 one?

PS, WHO does 70 mph anyway these days? I do 60 in the Minors, sometimes 65, and the same in my Aystin 1300, sometimes 70 or 75, but everyone is pasing me doing 90.

Only people who a) don't pay for their own petrol and b) have someone to take their penalty points for them drive at these speeds now.....

Re: Telescopic shoc absorber conversions
Thats funny!
Seriously though, having driven a 948 Minor for years as my only car and then a 1098 one too, they are great at pootling about but my Austin 1300 is much better as a daily car from the point of view that it will pull effortlessly up hill towing a trailer with stuff in it at about the same rate as if its not towing. The 1275 engine makes for better zooming up hills. I am looking forward to having a Morris that will do that.
Downside is increased fuel economy though..
That will get about 37mpg whereas my 948 Minor gets almost 50.
