The dreaded tracking! Thanks for updating, and going back to coils the plastic should be wiped regularly with a cloth to get rid of grime and grease which can cause tracking, and would be the end of a good coil.

But I have to add - in an emergency - it's worth trying rubbing the rotor arm over with some oil (from the dipstick if necessary) which may just insulate the tracking enough to 'get you home'. Just don't imagine it is a permanent repair.....
