A master of understatement too!Not bad for a day's work
"Once you break something you will see how it was put together"

If I had been working on my own, it would have taken me ages - Woody is the kiddo when it comes to stuff like that, always has been

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
Superb Les, you really got stuck in and didn't give in I see, many of hours have gone into this, can also see you tac welded the repairs in place to avoid heat build up and distortion
is that red oxide or bonda primer you used...

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
Thanks for comments, the paint is a cellulose based red oxide. Handy for sealing areas that get finished, when you paint as you go it gives the impression that there is one bit less to do! As you say heat distortion is a big deal on panel work and although I had one or two issues to deal with, doing it in short bursts was the answer.

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
Update 22nd Jan 2014
Woody and I have been working on the front end for a couple of days. New inner wings, flat sections and curved sections (wheel arches), new tie plates. Awaiting new A posts complete (both sides), 1 new wing (other is A1).
One panel I would like to get is the piece of the front, driver's side, window pillar, just above the A post - this is not available as far as I can see, but, I have my supspicions that it might be available - does anybody know where I might get it?[frame]

You should be able to see where I need the panel in the above pic

Re: Van roof - section thro' construction
I think you're right in saying it's not available. I had a similar problem but slightly higher up, I had to make the panel and associated guttering, I think the guttering is made now though. Try Iain Fairmile, he seems to make a range of metalwork.
