I use RH for classic insurance - comes with free roadside and recovery.

The 'frozen' car -don't wait till March to get it started - best get on to it now - and find out if there any problems, while there is time to get them sorted out before you want the car in March. If the battery was left in the car - it could have frozen - and burst the case - and will now be leaking corrosive acid !!

I used footman james. I recently insured both a mini and moggy as second cars for both my wife and I for £100.20p, unlimited mileage, UK and European roadside recovery... £50 excess for the mini, £100 excess for the minor as a previos owner upgraded the old 803cc to 948cc

Well, the two Minors and the MGB which were outside fared ok, but the Land Rover froze solid. Half hour with the space heater on a chair pointed at the rad sorted things out, but the thermostat housing looks like its split. Its a plastic thing, so I suppose its the weakest link, and hopefully the cheapest link!

Just heard today of someone who tried the space heater technique with a modern car and came back later to find the grill and bumper a rather droopy shape! Obviously not a problem with Land Rovers (unless Series 3 or newer) and Minors but worth bearing in mind...

I had a branch members funeral to go to on Monday. I wasn't going to take the Morris as it had been so cold and the snow was still down till last weekend. On Monday, the sun was shinning and the temp was warm so after a few checks I started and drove out my Morris. A few more checks and away we went. I am glad I took the Morris as it made people smile again at a time when it's hard to smile.
