Watched '633 Squadron' last night. Great fun! There was a very odd 60's Land Rover in the background early on. The women's make up and hair was completely wrong, just like in 'The Battle of Britain'.
The best moment in the Dambusters is when they hit the Dutch coast and variously say 'Enemy Coast Ahead'. Always sends a tingle through the spine. My 10 year old said the same thing out loud looking out the window on an Easyjet flight to Berlin earlier this year. Cue grovelling apologies and a frosty atmosphere....

Many years ago my cousin was involved in school exchanges. One German girl came to stay and the younger of my two cousins must have been playing up. My late aunt asked the German girl, "Do you get naughty boys in Germany?" and my younger cousin whispered to his mother "I know of one naughty boy from Germany....Hilter". I think this must have been one of those awkward moments.Harry&Doreen wrote:My 10 year old said the same thing out loud looking out the window on an Easyjet flight to Berlin earlier this year. I watched a DVD of 'The Damned United' last night which was completely enjoyable. Apart from the gripping football story (I was born in 1961 so it was all huge when I was a kid), it was also set in the seventies...
The was ne'er a moggie to be seen until right at the end when there is a scene with Clough and Taylor at Peter Taylor's house. And lo! There it was, a Clipper Blue Traveller in full view for nearly five minutes.
I was a contented man.
