giving me no confidence they'll last more than a few weeks in service

I fitted Supeflex to every bush location, including the rear spring pads, 10 years and 28,000 miles ago and have not needed to replace them, and they look good for more years yet.

They do squeak, but the newer designs are claimed to be better?
