Think I'll stick with the originals - I thoroughly despised the styling on both the new "Mini" and the new "Beetle". Instead of uglifying wonderful classics, why don't they really do some creative thinking and come up with a truly unique, modern, beautiful economy car and not the fugly little boxes we keep seeing.

Totally agree. The original Beetle, Fiat 500 & Mini were built to meet a need for cheap transport for people. That they looked good was a bonus, the icing on the cake. They fundamentally had to be affordable & practical and compete on those terms.

The modern pastiches are built to meet a lifestyle statement. Looks and image come first, practicality and especially affordability don't. In the case of the three door Mini, the manufacturer can't even be bothered to design something that works in both the LHD and RHD market.

Still (says he, recovering from a good rant by trying to find a positive), means there are lots of cheap M45 superchargers knocking about.

In the case of the three door Mini,
Shows what I know as I thought it had 4.
