matt,

I will be droping the box out the bottom so don't need the crane, as to welding in the captive nut... I've never used a welder (still a skill to learn) so probably easier to drive to someone once its done with the cover loose/off and get that one nut touched back in place

see you there this evening guys

Rob, take the offer of the engine crane and take the engine out! It is MUCH easier and involves a lot less backwork. I would choose to remove the engine EVERY time to change a gearbox. Done it once from underneath and swore i would NEVER do it again! :D

Will chuck the crane in the van if you dont want it its not a problem ;)

rob, no offence, but i think i win! (glad urs went well though!!) mine was going well until...realised the clutch was not the issue, it was the whole flipping thing! so, richard(mogwai) came round to drop off some carpet for him indoors(dad), and also told me of a welding trick. trick done, clutch is a gem, i LOVE richard! whoo! anyway, jokes aside, thanks muchly mogwai, truly my clutch is stupendous! :-D

Well How about Ashurst to give the Empress a break?

Also Matt alright if I bring those wheels?

Also, also Anyone got the 2 metal cups that hold the clutch relay shaft onto the chassis and gearbox?
I bought all the washers and bushes new but have now seriously misplaced the cups and as I have only just found something I put in a safe place in 2001 I'm afraid there is a good 7 years left before they are likely to turn up again :(
