I might sell Bertie when I've finished so that I can buy another moggie that needs painting.

Poor o'l Bertie just paint it again, only another colour and save the purchase cost of another car. Dare you to use waterbased and spray in the rain, could be interesting

Using waterbased and spraying in the rain? The paint would end up on the ground!
I prefer to spray when the temperature is at least 70°F and the humidity is below 50%, but this is Britain!

I've still got a little work to do. Some sanding and repainting, door needs a repair, and then some sort of polish!
Can anyone recommend some wax to bring up the shine a bit?

Looks great - but there is some cutting back to be done. Use cutting paste and elbow grease, followed by T cut - and then eventually - hard wax polish. But I would let the paint harden (in the sun if possible) for a week or so before doing anything.

Well the car's on ebay now with a 7 day auction so I don't think you'll get the chance to harden the paint for a week before polishing

I'm nearly finished now. I've never worked so hard in all my life! I've never been so dirty either. It's been worth it though as I have learnt so much and I'm pleased with the end result.

Are you Trafalgar blue all over
I was when we finished spraying our son's car. I couldn't get the paint from around my nails so I painted them dark blue!

Yes I am! I think I'll get some nail varnish then as my nails look really horrible!
