New master cylinder question
Hi everyone, I have just found out that there is a guy 60miles down the the road from me that carries a small stock of new Minor spares. As I need a new master cylinder I thought I would give him phone, well the good news is, he has one.when i asked him was it a lockheed,he said its the lockheed replacement. I do not want to put one of the cheaper patern one's on .so what i need to know is: how do i tell the difference between the "lockheed" one and the cheaper patern one, and what make do you guys suggest i use. Thanks in anticipation. Sam.

Lockheed is now just rubble but the 'genuine' parts will be in a Delphi box (since about 18 months years). It it is older than 2 years, it will be in a yellow Lockheed box.
They are only ~£50 + delivery so make sure you don't get stung too much.
The genuine ones will look like your old m/c. I've not seen a patternone to know if they look different, but I expect the casting will be a bit more crude - although maybe not.

From memory the genuine ones have 'AP' cast into the side of them, whereas I'd assume the pattern ones can't have as it's probably a trade mark.
