Master cylinder woes

Post by Peetee »

Funny how one job leads to another

I was oiling the clutch pedal linkage and inadvertantly pulled the plunger clear of the brake master cylinder.
Obviously I'm going to have to take the MC out to check but is it likely I have ruined it?
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

You pulled which plunger clear of the MC??
If it is just the rod attached to the pedal shaft, then don't worry.

If the m/c innards came out - then the circlip must be missing, and that's not a good sign!

I think that's what it is. I slotted it back in but now there is a solid feel to the brake pedal (car is undriveable at the mo - I'm just pushing it by hand)
