How much choke?

Well, it was Mr Appleby (sp?) that designed the A-series engine so blame him! But to be honest, I think the advantages of the A-series FAR outweigh it's disadvantages. It's a great engine that has enjoyed many decades of success (5 or 6). There are not MANY engines that boast that!

Needles are available from most Morris spares companies, also from Burlen, who now own (& presumably make?) the SU carb. Their website is very useful: -

I've had 2 attempts at fitting nice chrome filters.........they look cool when fitted, but the car runs sooo much better with the original.
