Almost correct. They didn't do it themselves. They invited all the foreign car manufacturers around to do it instead and then gave them the keys to Issigonis' design office.The more you read of the website the more it seems BMC/BL/AR didn't shoot themselves in the foot so much as hack their leg off and beat themselves unconcious with it.

You'd think - But they're also the same discs and calipers as used on the Dolly 1300! And not far removed from those used on the Triumph 1300... Plenty enough for something lighter like a Minor in my opinion, but actually not all that great at stopping a ton of 120+hp driven in anger from what I've heard (never cooked them on 60hp of Dolly myself though).
