thats right the bellows type, the rac man fixed it with a piece of heater hose and thats been fine ever since. The bellows type has a seam down the side and thats where mine went.

Out of interest - was RAC man able to fix the bypass hose ?

Yeah, he just used a piece of correctly sized piece of solid hose. It was fine all the way home and its still in place. Although I carry a spare now.
