Post by PaulJohnson »

Hello Everyone.

I would just like to know would it be possible if I changed the wipers switch (2-way) to a 3way switch (Ie side/headlamp) could I connect somthing that would make my wipers work on a Intermeadent setting eg every 7-seconds???.

Hi Paul years ago there used to be a switch that linked to a reostat device that enabled an intermitant function but I have not seen it for years, I believe the only way to achieve it is to use one of Birmingham Minor Centres Gismos which I think come from a mini.
Cheers

or if you are OK with wiring you could always use the timer relay unit from a modern car out of the scrap yard.

Paul,

A company called "Maplin" used to produce a diy kit for variable intermittant wipe - a friend fitted one to a Maxi long ago. Depends on how handy you are with a soldering iron....
Be careful with the polirity if you're using solid state bits ...

I used to sell them in about 1992, but I have never used one.
