Look what I got this weekend!

This colour was to go on a Platinum Grey Morris 10. What are your opinions on this colour? It is a grey, but a greenish grey

That looks pretty well spot on to me :D .
Platinum Grey is a greenish grey so it looks right.

Is it actually Platinum Grey or just a similar colour ?

And where did he get the formulation from ?

I got this from a friend of mine, who had it matched up ten years ago. This paint is to go on his Morris 10. I will get it matched up in DuPont paint I think, I'll ask about the formulation

I haven't a clue yet. the sample I got was 2K paint, but I'd like a wee tin of the paint, to paint the underside of the car in lovely PG!

Will DuPont do for you?

I'm hoping to use 2K for the underside, engine bay & interior.
I'd like to use acrylic for the exterior, but it looks like I might be using whatever I can get hold of.

I'm not in a real hurry for it. It's going to be a few years before I need to repaint mine (hopefully).

If I can get hold of the right colour as a sample, I can get it matched using a spectrometer & get the correct formulation for any type of paint I need ***crosses fingers***.

I can get the correct colour in any type of paint in America so I might be getting a colour sample from there.

BTW I've heard of celluose(?) type paint used in the UK.
I'm not familiar with this type but I'm assuming it's just air dry enamel - would I be right ??

Cellulose paint is the type of paint the cars were painted in originally, therefore its the best to use for a re-spray or any repairs.

2K paint cannot be sprayed at home as it gives off highly poisonous isocyanate fumes.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Do you know if cellulose is enamel paint ?
I would think so as acrylic (Duco) didn't really become common until the '60s/'70s.

I'm aware of the dangers of 2K. I try to avoid home use of that stuff wherever possible.

Likewise  .

I'll print it out & take around to my paint supplier & see what he makes of it.
Thanks very much Onne.

Do you still think it's too dark ?

No, just the indoor picture of NWL576 that confused me. I have never seen Platinum Grey in the flesh, so I can't tell what it is, but this looks right to me.
