Sorry Cam I am not 100% sure. :oops: All I can say is that I believe later Series MM's had painted steel kickplates.

but the term later is relative.. is mine early (being lowlight) or a late lowlight?

didn't know ally wasn't magnetic, you learn something new every day!

OJO was first registered in January 1950 and is fitted with aluminium kickplates. If Victoria was registered later than this and also has them we are one step nearer to answering your question. :wink:

I take it Monty (my 1952 MM) would have steel plates then being built on the 28th May 1952?
