I`ve got round to some grinding and welding today :D oh happy days.

But.....

Quite a bit more to do, now can this be rebuilt from scratch with sheet steel and a bit of welding wizardry, or try and find a scrapper and cut the corner off, or can bits like this be bought.

Hi MM

I`ve got some new wood to go on, it`s just that rear corner in photo that`s the biggest headache although i`ve just seen & ordered the particular bit that the bumper stud bolts onto, { good old ESM } the rest can be fashioned out of metal i have laying around.

Some photos of your own efforts would be nice, just use my email button, or indeed post them on here.

Yes, you can buy all those bits, I has to do simmilar on my Traveller earlier in the year. You can buy a complete boot floor to weld in, and all the other bits.

I would support the floor at several places with axle stands and big block of woor to stop the whole lot distorting!

PS. surprisingly it`s only the top that`s rotten, underneath is as solid as the proverbial rock, thank god :D

its the complete boot floor for the Traveller!

RP149.

I didn;t realised it existed either and ended up repairing the whole boot floor with lots of pieces of steel, cut and bent to shape. OK good practise, and the end result doesn't look to bad when ground smooth and seam sealed, painted etc, but I felt a bit silly when I found the whole panel for £30!!

Got my new wood today and it comes with 6 square fillets, any idea where these go, and what`s the best thing to go between wood and metal, ie, dum dum, underseal, nothing.

Some of the fillets go to wedge the ali panels into place in the wood. You'll notice they are about 1cm across and fit into the ~1cm channels in the wood side leaving enough space for the ali panels and some dum dum.

BTW, its best to paint these before fitting.

Dum dum is the stuff, also available from ESM and others.
