Leather
I'm thinking about getting some grey leather seats and dying them dark blue. Has anyone any experience of dying leather and can pass on their tips or product recommendations?
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

I have dyed a few leather bits (jackets, boots etc), and the 2 big things are: what sort of coating or finish is on the leather (it will effect the take of the dye), and make sure you can penetrate the seams, unless you want that blue with grey stripes look.
It might be worth taking them to an upholsterer (or similar) to get their opinion, and if it is a quick spray job, may be cheaper for them to do it as well
And, if you are doing it yourself - wear gloves

Thaks NZ. Being a lazy cheepskate I was Ideally looking for a 'wipe on' application that doesn't require removal of the covers. Having used liquid dyes before in another application I know they can really show poorly if there is any overlap in application. I wondered if there was a rub in cream like a shoe polish that would take a pale grey back to dark blue.
