Yeah. I was (luckily) not on the main road when it happened. Considering I do about 60 miles of motorway driving a day it was very lucky. My engine has sounded rough though since it happened.
The new one is all one-piece, so I can't see any rubber on it at all.
Basically, it's a standard pully (cast) with a weighted section on the front, maybe 1 inch in diameter beyond the "v" of the pully. there's two holes either side of the crank shaft hole (presumably to aid fitting and removal?)
I <i>think</i> that what I'll do is drive Hebe to the rally, but not let her go above 4k (cause that's when she starts vibrating madly) and drive her next week (when I've got my voice back that is - otherwise you lot on Sunday can have one very quiet nikki!). The week after that I've got off (half term) so hopefully I can get one of the spare engines fixed up and fitted ready for the following week. I say... "hopefully..."
What do you lot think about re-building and re-fitting the engine....
