Colour scheme MM cars
What colour should the interior on a black MM be? Its currently just horrible grey cloth. Do ESM/ newton commercial still do complete MM sets?

For a black 1950 lowlight (pre-sep 50) you should have brown carpets and beige trim with brown seat piping.
Yes, Newton Commercial do MM interior sets, but they can't supply the plywood headlining but they can re-cover yours if it's in OK condition.
All the lowlights had beige seats and trim. The only difference was the piping colour and carpets. Also there was only 3 colours available for the carpets and piping: Brown, Green and Maroon.
Here is a piccy of the interior as it should look like (ignore the body colour):

that is nice. Headlining is now made out of cloth, like on 30s cars.
Jolly expensive to have the interior refurbished btw. I checked out the Newton commercial site.

As far as I know, the piping was always maroon (with black bodywork) at this time. In fact looking very closely at the picture supplied by Cam, this too looks to be maroon not brown. Of course I could be wrong.

Bill,
Yes, I too looked hard and long at the pictures of both OJO's and NWL's interiors and decided that NWL's was more brown than OJO's and concluded that NWL had brown and OJO (incorrectly) had maroon!
So that's why I posted a picture of NWL and not OJO
I now realise this was very wrong of me!

But the pictures I have show a definate 'red' in OJO's and much more 'brown' in NWL's. I have also just had a look at some others from different rallies and the maroon cars piping does look a lot more like OJO's than NWL's.
I know I'm on very dodgy ground here, so I'll stop now!!!

Much better to see them in the 'flesh' - well, in the Vynide leathercloth!
Interesting to see what Newton Commercial sell as piping colour options though...
Of course you could be completely right and the pictures I have of NWL could be wrong or it might have the wrong piping (as there is PLENTY of other things wrong with the car as we know!).
Hmmm......... interesting one that!
