Body number (NMP?) Z36054?

Post by aluncm »

Can anyone help decode this on my 1971 Morris Minor Traveler? I'm slowly getting the history of the car and believe this may give me some more info?

Thanks

Yes that is the Traveller Z number which is used on later series 5 travellers.... your car number should commence with MAW5/******* (your body number is the other number stamped on the NMP Plate and NMP strip and is different to your car number)

Brilliant - thank you. It seems to tie in with the car as the chassis number in the v5c is MAVSxxxxx but that's a transcription error I think. What does the actual number 36054 signify?

MAW5/ = MG Abingdon, M/AW5 = Cowley & MAW5D = Adderley Park
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Thanks Pommreg

Aluncm think of Z36054 as a part number for versions of the traveller bodyshell the same as yours if you were to order a replacement!. The other number - the body number is unique to your bodyshell.
