So I bought new hinges for the trunk lid, no problems but a weird question, the casting has RH and LH in them, but there is no way the LH hinge fits on the left side, it only works on the right side, checked the ESM description and they are also "wrong", so I consider LH being the left side standing behind the car

Re: Trunk lid hinges
You may find its left side viewed from the front which is right side viewed from the rear. In the trade we always say nearside for left of the car as in nearest the pavement for us rhd and offside for the right side. Then it makes no difference which way you view.
One of your compatriots on YouTube makes me laugh he calls them captains side and drinkers side

Re: Trunk lid hinges
Although RHD and LHD are universally understood, for some reason recently some will change right and left as they walk around the vehicle.
