White or grey traveller

Post by Grumpy21 »

I’m in the market for a nice traveller. Ideally white (whatever the cream off white is called) or smoke grey. Must be in good condition needing minimal work, nice paint, good chrome and decent tyres. I’d like a red or matching interior, very good wood and decent mechanicals. Servo or disc brakes would be a bonus as would better seats.

I don’t expect a top quality show winner but I don’t want an untidy example either. My budget is around £9000, ideally less to allow some leeway for improvements if want to make. Nationally there are at least 3 cars that would match my spec but unfortunately they are all over 150 miles away in different direction so I’m wondering if there’s anything closer to home before I start hitting the motorways next week.

Thanks in advance, Gary.

Ps I do have some experience and believe I know what I’m looking for, I won’t be paying over the odds for a mediocre example.

Good luck with your search. It would help to say where you are in the UK. Cars do turn up being sold by branch members etc.

It might also help if you edit your thread title to Smoke Grey instead of just Grey because as I'm sure you know, Smoke Grey is actually light blue. The off white colour is Old English White. Colour schemes are listed here: https://potteries.mmoc.org.uk/ID/PaintTrim.htm

I think from what you say, you are probably looking for a later 1098cc Traveller?

Quite right, I’m near Chester, smoke grey or OE white and 1098. I’ve heard the white called so many names, OE, snowberry, Glacier…. It’s the creamy white with red interior that’s my preference

Thanks

Yes OEW is the colour of many of the Minor wheels and also a body colour. It is the creamy white. Snowberry and Glacier are whiter and not the cream you are looking for.
