So I did a thing

I have been reading up recently about how to live with a Morris Minor and these four (4) books so far has taught me a lot of the how's and why's of Morris Minor ownership...to the point that I have recently purchased a 1954 Morris series II from an estate in Pennsylvania...I am in upstate NY and I bought it site unseen...I know I am crazy...but from these books it makes it appear as thou theses little cars are pretty basis transportation...

Welcome to the world of Morris Minors
Whilst the Minor may be a basic vehicle it just sucks you in and becomes an inseparable part of your life.
My 1958 Minor WDF 714 was my first car and it has been in my ownership for over 57 years. I know its full history and knew the car before it came into my ownership.
Later I did have a 1954 Series 2 but that came and went.
Thank you for bringing to my attention the Blind Man Morris tool box companion book. I have now ordered a copy to see what I am missing though I do have the majority of the tools including several of the factory special tools as listed in the BMC wksp manual. Plus some I have made to make doing the job easier.
Good luck with your purchase and I do not think that you will be disappointed.

I'm newish to minor ownership only in my 4th year.but no regrets.
They make you you smile and most people you drive by.

I join Phill in welcoming you to the world of Morris Minors. I too am a long-term owner having learned to drive at 17 on the same Morris I have now 37 years later. Phil is right that Minors capture you. They may be quite basic but that is not to say that they are trouble free by any means. They were designed and built in an era when frequent maintenance was normal and expected. They will survive neglect, many ended up as low-budget cars run by students at one time, mine was exactly that, but if you want them to run really well that takes effort and some care and precision in maintenance. The worst problem now I find is poor quality reproduction parts. This gives the car a bad reputation that it never actually had back in its glory days. On the contrary, they were far more reliable than most of their contemporaries. I would recommend joining whatever Morris or British classic car community there is in your area so that you can exchange knowledge, spare parts and a lot of fun of course!

Yes this is the "before" and the "jalopy" will be the after...besides the ole jalopy / project needs a friend I think to talk to at night.

I also need one that I can get my wife to ride in someday...

Bit late to the party, but welcome to the gang!

I’ve got one of the BMM books but I want them all, they are fantastic, as is their YT channel, they also have a very helpful website if you haven’t discovered that already.

It’s amazing how quickly these little cars become part of the family! I wish you all the best with yours. I’m very new to this… and learning everyday.. it’s great fun!
