What distributor is this ?

Post by RustAndMagic »

Hi!
So I am new to UK cars, so apologies if this should be obvious, I am trying to figure out what kind of distributor this is, (looking around to see how easy it is to find parts for it), but all caps I look at, look different so no idea what to look for, it's an early 1951 (January), side valve, has oil filter, no water pump, oil filler cap at rear.

And while I am at it, are there other later distributors that would fit also ?

Google AI mode suggests a Lucas DKYH4A distributor or a Bosch model 600.

As stated it is a Lucas DKYH4A distributor, there are a couple of versions but the design is very similar. The MMOC club spares specializes in the early car spares so the parts are available, so worth joining the club if you are not already a member :D .

Later distrubutors do fit, yes - I've run my Series MM on an old DM2 or 25D from a 948 while the original distributor was being rebuilt and it ran well!
