1098cc A-Series Engine Parts

Having stripped and rebuilt several A-series engines over the years, I have amassed a collection of spare parts which I hope will be of use to anyone undertaking a similar task. All of these have come from 1098cc engines but some parts may be interchangeable with other A-series engines.

Starting with the larger items, there are two engine blocks, one standard bore and one +030, both with only a small amount of wear. There are two crankshafts and two cylinder heads complete with valves and springs. Also one sump, one engine back plate, two front plates, two manifolds, a couple of rocker shaft assemblies, two flywheels with ring gear, various timing gears and pulleys, two complete sets of pistons with con-rods, one camshaft with cam followers and pushrods, two timing gear covers, one rocker cover, two sump oil strainers, plus numerous sundry items and all the smaller parts that make up the A-series engine.

I believe that all parts are in reusable condition. Some just need cleaning but others will need stripping and renovating.

If this collection of parts is of interest then please get in touch. I’d prefer to pass on all of these parts as a job lot in the hope they get used and not scrapped, but if there’s anything specific you want just ask and I’ll see if I’ve got it.

Seems you may have the collection of part to get my wanna be mechanic son interested in building his first engine over the summer !
Interested in this as a job lot, depending of course on how much you are looking for for your collection ? Im in Warrington so its not far really.

Hi Al,

Sorry for the delay in replying but I've been away on holiday this week. I've just been sorting through the parts and there is an awful lot of stuff. I've found some more engine bits I didn't know I had, including new head gasket and bottom end gasket sets which I'm happy to throw in. Can maybe help you out with some engine ancillaries as well if you need them. It sounds like a worthy cause getting your son involved so I can hopefully offer you a good deal.
