Lining up van doors.

Post by Grovervan »

Hi everyone, I have a 1963 Morris van. The left rear door is lower than the right. I have tried undoing the bolts that secure the doors to the body but this makes no difference.
Do I need a special type of washer for the hinge bolts?

This is not a science, it fact like all doors on Minors in general, the fit is dependent on various things, the main one being any repairs surrounding the doors that are not aligned correctly. However if this is not the case on your van, I suggest you loosen the bolts on the offending door then with a piece of stout timber, lever up from under the door, tighten the bolts with tension still under door, then release. Do the same with the bolts that hold the hinges to the van sides.

I have sent you a PM, as it's possible you may have a Dual Personality Minor.
