Split screen chrome trim fitting
Can anyone advise. When I bought my ‘55 split screen tourer last year the windscreen chrome trims were not fitted apart from the vertical centre. I have 2 clips with the trim. Does the windscreen need to come out to fit the trims? Can you advise a specialist to fit them?? I’m in West Sussex.

Re: Split screen chrome trim fitting
I don't think you need to take the screen out to fit the trim, thank goodness. You may need a special tool to get the trim bits in and it will probably be be a bit fiddly. Your rubber looks fairly new and flexible, which should help....
Re: Split screen chrome trim fitting
The instructions in the manual and in the Mono Construction book say to insert a string in the groove before fitting the screen and to press in the chrome trim after the windscreen is in place. You are instructed to press it in as the string is pulled out..presumably allowing the slot in the rubber to open sufficiently.
