Best MIG welder

My new project is going to require a bit of welding ( panels and some light structures)
My previous welding was confined to a hefty arc welder so I will have to start again.
I'm looking for something for general most day to day restoration tasks, simple to use, controllable and not too expensive.
Any advice please?

That Parkside is an ARC.

I used an Clarke 110EN for years and years, and only upgraded to an expensive Lincoln last year.

You want something that will wind down to 25-30A for bodywork.

It all comes down to your budget. “Not too expensive” means different things to different people.

machine in Italy 5 years ago and still use it for all sorts of things.

I've never seen very good results from gasless mig welding. I have a Clarke MIG and it has been excellent. Had it some years. Shop around and get the best price. You get what you pay for. Sometimes welders are available secondhand too and have had very little use. Might be worth thinking about?

I had a Migmaster 130 for many years until it finally said 'NO MORE' and died. I then got a cheap Sealy that wasn't very good and didn't last very long until that too packed up. I then got an inverter welder off eBay and, as luck would have it, there was a 20% off voucher going so it cost me just under £200. There was a slight problem with a leaking gas pipe that was easily fixed and has since performed well and has done the majority of the work I did on Ted the traveller and all the welding (and there was lots) on my Commer Auto-Sleeper. And the added bonus of a stick welding function which I have also used to good effect.

For those who value after-sales service, I have nothing but praise for R-Tech Qelding Supplies of Tewkesbury. They sell their own brnd equipment. Not the cheapest, not the dearest, but they have a back-to-base repair facility that is really reassuring, and their stuff is AFAIK made by themselves.
Since I went amateur I look to them for advice and supply. I don't need industrial brands any more, though my Lincoln mig is like spreading butter compared to others I have tried, but at a colossal price. It is a hangover from my professional involvement.
