Don't the overiders blank some of the light and cause shadows?

I never like to criticise, but constructive concern: It might be the angle of the camera, but do the new lights partially obscure the tail lights/reflectors, and do the overriders cast a shadow?

Well I wouldn’t put lights there but I don’t think the rear lights would be compromised to any worrying degree, as for the overrides in the way, although distorting some light, not a safety issue. Under the bumper would be an option.
Merry Christmas to all, while I’m here ! :D

I am removing the over riders so they won't be in the way. They sit there so we can open the boot and they don't obscure the rear lights but hanging them down is a good idea.

Happy Christmas to all

I may be wrong, but I've always considered the DPM category running from the introduction of the 1098cc in Sep '62, through until the major updated Facia and Key Start etc., of October '64.
Whereas the Wiper changes, and Amber Indicators, were in the midst of that period, in Oct '63.

Oh I see Berni, I had mistakenly thought that the update to facia etc and wipers were one and the same. Mines Oct 62 despatch date, early mk5 so definitely dpm. Some have questioned it having two glove box lids but I think may of been some slight variations.

BMC were terrible at coordinating the 'Change Points'; it's as though they couldn't synchronise the parts orders & delivery.
If you look at the early years of the S3/1000, there were 5 different dates just in '57 for something changing.
In December '56, only 2 months after the new model launching in the Oct, there were 2 changes:

462458 - Improved steering swivel pin
463443 - Improved Boot Handle & Lock

That's only 985 cars difference.

In the 80s as one of their employees our company cars used to come from the reject bin  2 different specs on same car was not unusual. I had a green rover and when washed for the 1st time it transpired the colour matched trim around the windows was in fact mould from long term storage in the disused quarry were unsold cars were parked
I think new and old parts were intermixed on production, so not surprised they couldn't pin down dates.

Yes, it does. According to Paul Skilleter's book "Morris Minor", your car is a 1963-built car, although DVLA has it down as first registered on January 1964.

Indeed, Rich, it does confirm that you have a Dual Personality Minor. Can you PM your email address please and I can send you the short application form to get your car onto the DP register. I will then send you the free and exclusive DPR windscreen sticker.

Thanks,

Alan
